Short Abstract:

This workshop provides teachers with strategies and focused lessons for Writer’s Workshop that incorporate instruction on the Six Traits of Writing. Strategies cover a variety of genres including opinion/argument, informative/explanatory, and narrative as well as writing in the content areas. Management strategies and lessons lay a strong foundation for an effective Writer’s Workshop. This staff development provides the nuts and bolts for being a successful writing teacher for language arts and for the content areas.
